LOOK | CHED-CAR begins quality assessment of ASC Graduate Teacher Education Programs
The assessment and evaluation of the Graduate Teacher Education Programs under the ASC Graduate School (GS) formally commenced at the Conner Campus on September 9.
A team of education specialists from the Commission on Higher Education (CHED)-Regional Quality Assessment was welcomed by ASC President Emmanuel P. Pattaguan, key officials, and the GS family, led by Dr. Nobleza C. Sadao, together with faculty members from the Luna and Conner Campuses.
Leading the team of evaluators, composed of Dr. Gemma M. Perey and Dr. Dorothy D. Silva, Mr. Patricio Dinamling said the project, Excellence in Quality Assurance in Teacher Education (EQUATE), ensures strict compliance with CHED standards for teacher education majors.
The team thoroughly reviewed documents covering areas such as curriculum, faculty development, research, community involvement, and library resources. Interviews were also conducted, along with an ocular inspection of the College Library, assisted by the Office of the Quality Assurance.
ASC President Emmanuel P. Pattaguan stressed the importance of faculty transformation as he challenged faculty members to continue developing and producing more quality professionals.
“We will always make quality happen at ASC; today is the beginning,” Dr. Pattaguan affirmed in his welcome remarks.
The CHED-CAR team arrived at the Conner Main Campus Extension on the eve of the four-day visit and was welcomed through traditional Isnag dances, the Taddo and Salip, as well as songs rendered by students, followed by a fellowship dinner facilitated by the Office of the Socio-Cultural and the BSHM department, respectively.
The RQA team traveled to Luna Campus to conduct a similar evaluation. The four-day visit will culminate in a closing program featuring the presentation of findings and recommendations.
